Hey everyone, i'm new in here as you can see lol. Anyways, the reason for this thread is that my mbox 2 mini got wet yesterday and i waited till today to check if it would work, but it didnt. Its should still be wet inside, i have no doubt about that, i just wanna know if my mbox died or if its going to work eventualy.

Any help would be apreciated in this desperating matter.

Try putting it in a zip-lock bag of dry rice for 2 days. (tape up the holes first so the rice doesn't get stuck in there).

If it doesn't work after that, it's toast.

I'm just curious; how exactly did it get wet?

If it wasn't on when it was wet, you have a good chance of success.

The Bag of Rice is the best method. Rather than taping of the input and output jacks I think I would tape something porous like paper towling or very fine screen over it.
Hmm... Actually that gives me a idea! Got a girl friend? Stick the MBox in a pair of pantyhose or a knee high stockings and put it in a bag with a generous amount of rice. My thinking is that the stocking will let the Mbox breath much better than taping the openings up. Also once the stockings are off you will have something to do while its drying out.

but now that im thinkin, the usb cable got wet too...so most probably its messed as well.
but does the mbox work AFTER getting wet? it might have a fuse or something that once it get in contact with water shuts down or something. and the other thing is...does it HAS to be for a couple of DAYS...I did the zip bag covering the holes with tissue so it get air inside...im even thinking of opening it and put a blow drier lol

im just worried that its deade cuz i tried connecting it and it does not respond

I have had numerous electronics get wet. I had a pager(remember those things?) that fell in the lake several times, also dropped cell phones in water before too. They have always worked once they dry out after a few days. It may be that I'm just lucky, but I think you just need to wait a few days. Based on the time of your first post this must have happened within the last 24 hours.
