When will I be required to download PT 2022

This question probably has an easy answer, but I can't seem to find it on AVID's website. My Pro Tools educational license is about to renew, which will automatically switch me from Pro Tools to Pro Tools Studio. I'm currently running PT 2021.7 on my 2018 MacBook Pro with Big Sur 11.6.7. I have a new MacBook Pro M1 on the way in the next month or so. I would like to wait until I get my new machine to install and start using PT 2022, especially because PT 2021 meets my needs just fine. Will I be required to download and install 2022 when my educational license renews in a few weeks, or can I continue to run PT 2021 with a PT Studio yearly subscription?

Continue to run what you have now.
There is not "forced updates" -- any license that renews allows you to continue to use past versions you had. You just get the option later to use more recent versions. When you want.

Upon checking, your Pro Tools Annual Subscription (Education) is active an good until September. You should be able to see it now in your account. Just go to my.avi.com/products#Myproducts
You can use your current license to run PT 2021 and you can download later versions inside your MyAvid(Link above).

Thanks much. The first part I knew - that my annual subscription will renew in September. What I wasn't sure of is whether I would be required to download and run PT 2022 at that time, or if I can continue to run 2021. Thanks again.

Thank much! I thought AVID said as much when they did the livestream introducing PT 2022, but I couldn't find it in writing.
