Default All of a sudden PT 9.0.2 Not "seeing" Digi 002 Rack

Hi. Running Windows 7. Dell precision T3500 computer.

Running PT 9.0.2 for a while now. Never any prob with it recognizing the Digi 002 Rack. Turned it on today and it just sees the Creative ASIO thing. Can't find the 002. Turned it on and off, tried to change the "Hardware" in the software but does not list the 002 - only the ASIO.

Turned computer on and off, re connected Firewire cable, the back lights up AND I get audio through it for basic computer functions (not pro tools)

But when I run pro tools it doesn't see it all of a suddent after months of it being fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

well - it somehow came back. I did nothing to make it happen. Just came back to my computer an hour later and it's back. Maybe a bad firewire cable? To Be Continued...

When was the last time the harness was replaced (or exercised)? (are you aware of the power harness issue that hits almost all 002 units?). Reinstalling the driver couldn't hurt. Reseating the harness connections several times each will often resurrect an ailing 002. Just pop the top. With the unit facing you, the power supply is on the right side. Follow the harness out to 2 circuit boards. Total of 4 connections; 1 going into the PSU and 3 others(out of the PSU and 2 PCB's).

+1 for the harness.
If you have never reseated/cleaned it I would just go ahead and do it when you have time.

I have also seen issues with Firewire ports on 002 and 003... I had a dead port on an 003 that I could only use the 2nd firewire 400 port.... Just another potential issue....
