New to Pro Tools 10, trying to make some beats
I just got my Pro Tools 10 Student Edition, I want to start making beats and exploring the program but can't seem to figure out where to start. Any help would be very greatly appreciated! Just need to learn the software better.

You're a student, why not take a class on PT...? :)

Re: New to Pro Tools 10, trying to make some beats
Search YouTube tutorials on Boom, XPand and the other Pro Tools instruments. Have a good look through www.pro-tools-expert.com and other such websites. Then play around with Pro Tools until you get the hang of it.
Bear in mind Pro Tools' strength isn't beat-making - it's recording, editing and mixing. But it can be done if you find some good virtual instruments/drum machine plugins and spend some time learning them. |
