Default FCP original time stamp in OMF , how ?

Hi there,

whenever I get OMFs from Final Cut the original time stamps of the source files are based on the Final Cut timeline. Does anyone know a work around? Avid keeps time stamp untouched...
Working with BWF files 24/48 25fpd TC

Any Final Cut experts?

Thanks

Titus

Not possible because FCP is embedded OMF only.
Might work using XMLpro.

The original time stamp carries over in an Avid embedded OMF (or perhaps it's only in AAFs). I don't see why FCP can't do it. I was slogging my way through a couple EDLs today because of this very missing feature.

Hallo Frank,

I think exporting embedded OMF in AVID keeps the time stamp correct.

Yes. What I meant was that FCP does not and you can´t work around that unless you use third party tools and work with the original FCP media.

Note that FCP directly plays interleaved audio so unless the audio was imported as split-mono XMLpro will not be of much help.
