Default No mention of a simple basic function - Noise Reduction.

Thinking of buying this, but it has to have good noise reduction in it. In the plugins, there are tons of crap I wouldn't use, but not a standard feature of DAWs... noise reduction. Is there any included? Its a toss up between this and reaper, but I need to know what noise reduction it has. If its a separate product, what is that, and what price does it have?

Your post isn’t very clear.

Are you asking if PT includes a noise reduction plugin? If so, no... it does not. You’ll need to purchase something separately in AAX format.

And IMO noise reduction is more natural function of an audio editor application, not a multichannel recording/mixing software that was PT originally and still is. You extend its functionality by using plugins.

The fact that you think "noise reduction" is a simple basic function says a lot. The one thing that is not simple is noise reduction.

There are a lot of algorithms and a lot of methods (from spectral to artificial intelligence) -- there are solutions as simple as gating or hpf/lpf to modular systems like the CEDAR Cambridge (more expensive than many cars.)
They are not equal... in results and in application.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Best noise reduction is using proper micing techniques. Polisihng turd is usually futile.

Good advice above....
What kind of noise? There must be tons of different types of noise and many NR plugins are aimed at specific types(like hiss, or hum). The more money you spend on NR plugins, the more types of noise can be fixed. Izotope RX is probably the king of noise reduction but it doesn't come cheap(they do have an entry level version that may cover your needs).

If all your recordings need noise reduction, then you need to fix the problem that is being recorded. I record full bands and rarely need noise reduction. In some cases, I end up with guitars that have some buzzing(single coil pickups or high gain sounds) and I solve that with the 1-band EQ. I set it to hi cut(aka low pass) and put the frequency at 20k. any place where the guitar fades out(which brings up the buzz), I automate the frequency to slide down and this takes away the buzz nicely
