Default file pathnames in PT7 getting PC

Since upgrading to PT7 AND OSX 10.4 I now can't save into existing folders because I have a character (/) in the name that never used to be a problem. Now I get a pop up message telling me I have an illegal character in my pathname. It wouldn't be such a problem if I hadn't created so many sessions in this master folder and re-naming it opens up a whole new tin of worms. Is there a preference somewhere for file pathnames which will enable normal Mac operation? Are we getting a bit PC with this stuff?

Default Re: file pathnames in PT7 getting PC

It's not PC -- it's unix. And it makes sense. And many of us have been practicing proper filenaming conventions since the beginning of time.

And we ALWAYS checked cross-platform compato "just in case" -- it should NEVER have been an option, if you ask me. Just like the "." at the front of a file - the "/" should NEVER have been allowed to be part of a file name. BUT - once it was recognized to be a problem, many users ignored it, and simply lived in their mac-only world. Well, the mac grew up. Finally.

Time to replace "/" with "-". Get used to it. It doesn't hurt that much.
