Default firewire extenders

has anyone tried a 002 using a firewire extender like this? http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=2808

No, but, shoot, with a 100' cable the darn things costs as much as an 002R.

I could see using it with a 192 and HD for remote recording, to shorten analog mic cable runs.
