Default is Pro Tools LE 7.3 compatable with Windows 7?
Hi...I saw someone ask these questions, but could not find the answers they received. So....I really appreciate the help:

Is Pro Tools LE 7.3 compatable with Windows 7 (I haven't found anything that says yes yet)

If not what upgrades do I need, and where are the best sites to get them?

No, it's not.

For windows 7 you'll need to install 8.0.3 and then update to 8.0.4, and then install the 8.0.4cs2 update.

If you buy a new retail copy of PT LE 8 (v7 > v8 is a paid upgrade), you may get the 8.0.4 full installer, and then only need to update to cs2. My new Mbox came with the Avid 8.0.4 disc.

I was able to run 8 raw in windows 7. This was back in January.

That did work for some with USB interfaces(b8ut firewire was another story). When you buy PT8(any version), you get free updates anyway. For Windows 7, you want to be all the way up to 8.0.4 with cs2.

there's a handy compatibility grid that states which OS versions are supported by PT version.

Win 7 requires 8.0.4. If yours worked for you back in January - congrats, but it's not an officially supported or tested configuration, and as Albee said, didn't work for everyone.
