looks fine, cant remember if you said your using mbox or 002. if 002 get a compatible firewire pci card for it (in digi compatibility docs) and another internal hard drive. should use seperate drive for system and tracking. the dell's though have not been known to be the best performers and seem to have chipset incompatibilies.

though i must say, spending this much cash i and many others here will say go with an amd x2 base system or even better a QUADZILLA the amd's have proven to perform much better than the intel's, and the quadzilla is the highest performing computer going at the moment. but regardless an x2 based system can be had or better yet built for pretty cheap.

check digi's proven computers on this site as well to see if they say anything about this.

i dont quite understand dual processors... if a its says intel duo core processors at 2.8, does that mean 2 processors each with the power od 2.8 ghz, OR does that mean 2 processors eacj 1.4 that team up to make 2.8? what would be better for pro-tools?

check out the 1st page of "best desktops" thread. it has an x2 machine you can build for 600.00. ( does not have xp listed though, another 100) if you dont want to build it, buy the parts and have a local shop do it. this is a rockin machine allen has left up there. the best way to go.
