Default Compatable or not?

Hey guys Im a complete newb and would like some info to point me in the right direction. My PC is a Pentium 4, 4 GHZ with HT Technology. I know HT is a no no, if I disable it everything will be ok, correct? Also I have the 925X Express Chipset..I know some 925's arent compatable, is mine ok? I dunno if the X is a variable or not. If it isnt compatable is there any fix in the works at all, I know there are updates that are available and was wondering if this issue would be addressed. Thank you for your help so I dont make a huge mistake...i want an MBOX because pro tools seems to be the industry standard but if I cant use it than I want to find something else!

Default Re: Compatable or not?

From the mBox compatibility page:
Quote:

There have been reported compatibility problems with Pro Tools and the new 925 and 925p chipsets. Other chipsets in the Intel 9.x family may also exhibit similar incompatibilities and therefore Digidesign cannot recommend them at this time. Please check to make sure that the computer you are considering purchasing does not contain these chipsets, or any other chipsets which have not been officially qualified by Digidesign.
Looks like you're out of luck for now. Version 6.7 is reportedly coming out soon, but I don't think they will have fixed this by then, but what do I know?
