Update to 2021.3.1 now midi and software unstable

My Midi is dropping out and the system is often crashing. Never had that issue until I updated to 2021.3.1

I'm still on 2020.12 due to many issues I'm having with 2021.3.1.

No issues on Windows 10, the current version. Looks like it's on the Mac side.

My system is Mac Pro 2010 12 core 64gig of ram/ video card radeon 5770/ High Sierra/ Liquid Saffire 56 interface. Just got my Antelope Goliath HD Gen3. haven't hooked it up yet. Im planning on upgrading to protools Ultimate next wk. If 2021.3.1 is the software download at upgrade to ultimate I may have to wait until the bug is solved. Im also using 2 Panasonic DA7 consoles in Tandem.

Very strange how this is all playing out. I’m running 2021.3.1 and it’s pretty darn solid. I did have on time when I was playing back while editing and the PT UI became unresponsive, the mouse turned to the beachball but PT continued playing. The track finished playing through the end of the tune and the computer just sat there, probably still playing... The computer itself was unresponsive and I had to reboot. I’ve updated all my plugins and removed the Isotope ones.

Go figure...

I have the same CPU config. (HD Native card and Mojave, tho). Our machines (and that vid card, and your OS) aren't supported any longer. I wish they were, but I'm definitely sticking with 2020 for the foreseeable future, until I can get a newer computer. I had held out hope, but a 11-year old machine, and 4-year old OS is asking a bit much for continuing development.

I haven't played enough MIDI in real time on this version to know but I can playback 30-40 MIDI/VI tracks recorded on previous versions no problem. 2018 Mini, Big Sur, 2021.3.1.

Looks like MIDI recording/realtime is causing others issues as well.

Can confirm both I and a client are having midi issues too with 2021.3.1. Client is using i7 Mini with PT Native, playing in midi from his keyboard is causing cpu overloads even on sessions not in playing back mode. I have midi triggering issues where no note data is even getting to midi tracks... His mini is new and came with Big Sur 11.3.1, In desperation I upgraded him to 11.4 but it hasn't helped at all... Hope the june update helps with the reliability, bot just higher voice counts for HDX users..
