any way this problem is now ruining mixes and that is starting to make me quite angry ... have you hal. tried to reseat anything?... i think im going to try in the next day or so ... oh and the other thing i was thinking of was-- before i added more memory to my g5 - banking single faders quickly, rapidly would lock things up - after memory install no problems... hmmm -- could it be memory related? battery?

This is definitely very strange. I'm still thinking it's a bad fader motor control board - maybe the repair center didn't sit with it long enough for the problem to occur?

Which repair center did you use? Maybe we can talk to them to get more info on what they did...

Found a quick fix - might also shed some light on the problem. Stand By.

Yes, the PSU is and has been clean. I took it out last week for the "reseat ritual". I'm not a tech, so I wouldn't say the problem is solved, just under control for now. I assume the problem will return - and perhaps get worse - when the component that is causing this deteriorates further. But hopefully not anytime soon.

RightOnRome - Like I said, mine jump around, i am now suffering the heartache in faders 1-8. I have not tried reseating anything, to be honest with you, I usually tend to leave that to people with more experience. That being said, if it's not too difficult I would love to give it a shot. Is there a guide/re manual somewhere on how to do this? The weird thing is that it was serviced not that long ago. Would they not have done that?

DigiTechSupt - The fader control board was switched out for 1-8, and as I said, the issue happens with more than just 1 set of 8, I have actually experienced it on all three sets. It was serviced at CEV in Montreal.

ClickRec - Nice work! definitely wanna try this out, that fan sounded pretty noisy in the video, is it difficult to work with it on?

Yes, those little AC fans are noisy and heavy for their size. But it's just temporary. I really don't hear it when the Argosy lid is closed.

If I have no problem after the end of this week (it's been on for over 48 hours so far without a problem) I'll get a much smaller and quieter 9 volt DC fan. I'll have to find a good place in the back of the Control 24 near the power supply, make a hole and attach a fan directly to it.

I'd be curious - just how hot is it getting inside the Argosy, or inside the actual Control|24 near the PSU? Is there anyone that could check that and report back?

And great work on the sleuthing - not something I would have thought of without being there to notice a heat problem...
