Default Switching Between 002 and M-Box (Repeatedly)

I presently have an M-Box 2, but my church has recently purchased the 002 Factory for an upcoming recording project. Is there a way I can use the 002 Factory at home as a control surface and switch settings easily back and forth between using the M-Box and the 002 as my interface?

Thanks for your time.

You will need Protools 7.0 or 7.1 to work with both the Mbox-2 and the 002/002R. When you switch hardware, Windows XP should detect what is connect via USB or Firewire and load the drivers for it. You will then need to start Protools and select the current hardware that you are using. You will probably need to select the I/O assignments again as the MBox-2 and the 002/002R do not have the same number or type of Inputs and Outputs. You should also make sure you are using a common sampling rate as the MBox-2 does not support 96K like the 002/002R. That's all I can think of for now.

both systems running 6.x would be fine aswell, however 7.0 seems to of solved all the issues of disk allocation and PC/Mac compatability.
assuming both systems are setup fine and you arnt recording at 96K its pretty much a matter of loading the session and working on it. you will a message saying the hardware has changed and if you are using multi i/o you will need to reset them but if your doing all you main tracking on a 002 and just using the mbox for editing and mixing it wont be an issue.

I have an Mbox2 and a 002R and swap between them regularly.
Once in a blue moon I need to trash the prefs, but generally it's fine.

I was under the understanding that the Mbox-2 needed 6.8.1 to work but that version did not work with the 002. The 002 worked with 6.0, 6.1, 6.4, 6.7, 6.9 but those version did not work with the Mbox-2. Only Version 7.0 and 7.1 works with both the 002 and the Mbox-2. Am I wrong?

Obsidian i believe thats correct but im not an expert on the mbox2 anyway its an issue if they are on different systems its only an issue if using different hardware on the same system.
