Default Reason 8 ReWire not showing up in Pro Tools 11
Hello,

Just installed Reason 8 on my OSX / PT11 system. Never had a previous version of Reason or PT. Reason ReWire does not show up as an instrument plugin. I do see Waves ReWire which (I think) comes along with Waves Tune.

I have played with the "Run Reason in 32 or 64 bit mode" which shouldn't matter if I am running PT and instantiating Reason ReWire, technically Reason is not even running yet.

PropellerHeads said to NOT install the stand alone Reason ReWire in this case it is not needed as it is bundled into the full Reason install.

Not sure what to troubleshoot next. To clarify, the goal is to instantiate Reason instruments onto PT Instrument tracks for composing.

You DO need to set Reason to run in 64 bit mode even though you are using it as a Rewire slave inside PT. PT11 can't run 32 bit plugins natively and that's what it would be trying to do with Reason 8 set to run in 32 bit mode. When you set R8 to run in 64 bit mode be sure that both R8 and PT11 are not running.

Yes I agree with that. The main problem, though, is I do not even see Reason ReWire as a selection in PT plugins. But I will double-check that I've set 64bit while both proggies are not running. Thanks...

You will or should only see Reason, not Reason Rewire in the Instruments section of the plugin list. Set your list to show as both manufacturer and type and look under Propellerhead - Reason should be there.
