Default How to shut speakers off when headphones plugged in?

My monitors are great but I'm really curious how to get them to shut off when I plug my headphones in so that the speakers sound doesn't get in the way of what I'm recording without lowering the physical nob on my Yamaha HS5m's.

Help plzzz!

Some kind of monitor controller would be handy(unless there is a way to do it on the interface, which you never mentioned). A company called SM Pro makes a handy little box called the Nano Patch + that could be just the ticket, and its well under 100 bucks. More money gets you more features, but this would do the trick if its all you need. Moving up the ladder, look at Samson C-Control, Mackie Big Knob, Presonus Central Station...

Hate to promote Behringer stuff, but I use a Mon800. Works great

Yeah it doesn't. I used a 610 for a bit, and despite its two headphone jacks, you still need to turn up the main volume to get anything out of the headphones.

Silly.
