Default New HD I/O, HD OMNI,

if there's no upgrade option available, dont think I'm going to spend on new HD I/O.

How do we get rid of our old HDI/O...

Okay fellow 192 guys!

There's been a lot of talk on here about OMNI ("mboxHD" etc) but not much on the spanking new HD I/O. So....come on....hands up - who's thinking of getting one? Are you hoping for an upgrade path from the 192? (Unlikely, huh). Or are you thinking of selling? Or is it a bit early to decide?

Me? I'm still on a PPC, so I'm not doing anything yet.

Yup.

And a used 192 will sell for anywhere between $1500 and $2500 on eBay. You could get a 16x16 Digital for almost nothing, or chop the price of the analog in half... if you feel you really need the new stuff.

If you already have HD, I don't think you have to worry about that.

2.5k for a box that requires PCIe cards and has no converters onboard.

Downright laughable.

An Aurora 16 gives you the same 16 digital i/o and just happens to have 16 channels of decent analog i/o as well.

I'm not sure what they're smoking at avid...
