Vari-Fi

I'm running the Trial of 10.0, and Vari-Fi doesn't work properly. It previews perfectly, but renders either at the wrong pitch, or pulls in another bit of audio from somewhere else. Anyone else seen this?

This is with the old version of Vari-Fi, btw. I installed the instruments / plugins update, but still see the old one - has the new one been released yet?

My system :

17" Macbook Pro i7 2.66ghz
4GB RAM
OS 10.6.8
PT 10.0

EDIT - just saw a post saying that turning off handles makes it behave as it should. Tried it, and it works - but not very intuitive, is it? Anyone know what the deal is with the updated version?
