Default Goodbye iTunes? Hello finetunes!! Great app for musicians...

Hi,

Every itunes update i've been hoping for a loop between markers feature, but it never happened, so i wen't looking and found this brilliand app called Finetunes, which has loop playback between markers and other great features like. speed adjust. pitch adjust and other useful features. Being able to keep a section playing around when comparing is a really useful feature! playing the chorus etc of your reference song on a loop and comparing it A/B against your mix is a great way to help keep you on track.

Infact this works great along side itunes as you can drag and drop from itunes directly into finetunes!!

http://homepage.mac.com/seishu/sswor...finetunes.html 20 day demo then just $20

Chris

Hi,

Snapper can play in a continious loop between markers? How?

Snapper is a cool application thats for sure! but can it do basic continious loop playback, which is waht i've been wanting itunes to do for yonks. Plus 4 x the price, which might be too much if all you want is some simplistic playback features.

Hey Chris,

Just a heads-up... QuickTime Pro can also do what your asking. Including trimming, looping, speed adjusting, and pitch shifting of your audio. I'm not sure how it fairs comparatively, but it does handle those things and includes all the extra video editing functionality as a bonus.

Oh.. and it's kinda built into the OS.

$29.99, for the Pro however.

I bought a Tranzport in September of 2005. I share this date with you because the iTunes version that I was using at that time will let you choose a start time and end time and loop them. I am now using iTunes version 7.5 and just tried it to make sure it worked with the iTunes I am using now.
1) Highlight Song
2) Hit Command I
3) Select options
4) Select start time (it will make a blue check)
5) Select end time (it will make another blue check)
6) I can't remember if you have to select "remember playback position" but I did in my experiment just now
7) Find the third symbol of two circling arrows (indicating repeat) at the bottom left of the iTunes page and click on it (the first symbol is a "+", the second is a kind of "x" with two crossing arrows, the fourth is a box with a triangle within pointing up or down to show or hide artwork.
8) Click inside the loop to start playback.

I haven't seen the other programs listed here. I would have never found this myself had it not been for the purchase of the Tranzport.
I often look for your opinion on Protools subjects, I hope this is helpful for you.
