Default Discrepencies between atmos internal renderer and Dolby external renderer

So I'm discovering discrepancies between the Internal and External renderer and wondering if it's a bug or a "feature". My main gig is mixing video game cinematics. All our cinematics get mixed in Atmos, and having the internal renderer is a game changer regarding efficiency and workflow. However, instead of delivering an ADM or Atmos master file, I provide a 7.1.4 channel-based WAV as the final deliverable. This 7.1.4 file is then ingested in Wwise for use in-game. After switching to the internal renderer for the first time using (2023.12 initially and now on 2024.3) and exporting a 7.1.4 re-renderer directly from the PT renderer, the team on the game side of things said the mix sounded "off." I wasn't able to get anything more specific than that. However, when I exported an ADM from PT and used that to export a 7.1.4 re-render from the Dolby external renderer, I was told this played back perfectly. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this or am I on an island as I don't deliver an ADM?

Another thing I noticed. When exporting a 7.1.4 re-render from Pro Tools and reimporting in PT, the file ingests perfectly and is labeled as a 7.1.4 interleaved file. When ingesting into PT a 7.1.4 re-render from Dolby Renderer, PT sees it as a 12-channel mult-mono with each file labeled 1-12 instead of L, R, C, etc. Is this behavior correct?

I do have an account with the email used here. I wasn't able to send you a PM as it says you don't accept PMs. Perhaps you could try sending me a PM?

Sadly I think you might be on a quite deserted island delivering channel based immersive masters.

Did you ever try to import both 7.1.4 re-renders back into PT and do a phase flip on one?

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm considering just doing a channel-based 7.1.4 mix and avoiding the renderer altogether.

To answer your question, yes, I have imported them back into PT, and they do not null. I've gone channel by channel as well as compared full mixes.
