Default mbox2, 6.8.1 LE, Windows 7 + ??? = profit

I have an mbox2, which I haven't used for years, but I'd like to change that. Nowadays I'm on Windows 7. The version of Pro Tools LE that came with my mbox is 6.8.1, which won't install on 7. Probably because 6.8.1 is freaking ancient.

I figured that there was maybe a way to download a more recent version or... something. So I attempted to register my product under my Avid account, except the product registration page claims that the session has timed out every time (regardless of how quickly I fill out that form).

But backing up... is this even a direction I should be heading down? Is there a way to get my mbox2 working on Windows 7? I've tried searching around for answers, I managed to get drivers that work, but that doesn't really help me if I can't run the software.

Little help? Link to some glorious FAQ that has all the info I could want and more?

Mbox 2 will work on Win7 (as long as your computer is compatible) with PTLE 8.0.4 , PTLE 8.0.5, or PT9.

8x is a paid upgrade and 9 is a paid upgrade. Just go straight to 9 or you'll pay twice to upgrade.

Cheers,

I'm pretty sure Mbox2 is eligible for 'Crossgrade' to PT9 which saves you about $200 or more.

You may want to have a good look at this page before making the leap;
http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=353265

You may also find that posting a Sandra Report will provide the opportunity for others to offer feedback on any potential problems running PT9 with your current system. It's a good way to learn by others mistakes along the way in building a Win7/PT9 DAW.

Windows users need to provide a Sandra report

- Please - Use SiSoftware's Sandra Lite application to generate a full system profile:

www.sisoftware.co.uk

Under SiSoftware Sandra, click on "Download & Buy" to download the free Sandra Lite version or purchase other versions. After installing Sandra, click on the 'Hardware' tab and run the 'Computer Overview', then copy and paste into your post here on the DUC.
