So I fixed mine!

I'm pretty sure it was due to my system drive getting full
(video editor cache files in the background) and some pref file must've got corrupted

I wound up uninstalling PT, then using this little freeware app to nuke all the hidden or hard to find Avid Pro Tools pref files and databases, (might come in handy for you if you didn’t know about it, another engineer in ATL turned me on to it )

http://petegates.com/pg-pt-prefs.htm...QDR65pcG7uNoHQ

then reinstalled PT

I didn't have to do anything to the OS

Hope this helps, good luck...

Tried all of that. Still not working. Avid still hasn't gotten back to me about it

I have updated my Mac, reinstalled the OS, deleted and reinstalled Pro Tools multiple times, and I have tried the PT Prefs app. Still nothing is working. Any other ideas? Super desperate for a fix

Hi, welcome to the community.

First double check your system (OS/PT) is supported, then take a look at the Help Us Help You page linked to the forum header. Thank you.

Did you "wipe" the Mac first rather than update it? That's the only thing that could be different that I did . Other than that I'm afraid I don't have any ideas. I see Avid are super quick responding!!

Anybody has another solution ? I have tried every solution suggested above, it's still not working... Avid support hasn't gotten back to me after several mails and reports, and I've been paying my license for months now without being able to use pro tools.

Been working on other daws or in studios for all that time but i really need to have my pro tools back... I'm getting really pissed off. My only hope is for the next update.

Nothing worked for me except the full erase and re install, Avid were next to useless I'm afraid

So I ran into this problem this afternoon - PT crashed, I had to force quit and then this lovely error has appeared.
Not much else on it other than this thread, and I don't want to admit that I need to 'nuke and pave'. Any other options/opinion?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I found a fix! In addition to using PT Prefs to nuke the pref files after uninstalling protools I also searched my computer for any other protools/avid files or folders and deletes those. I then also made sure to uninstall Avid link and any associated files. I then reinstalled protools and it worked! Hopefully this helps.

I’m using a MacBook btw.
