new problem with an old setup HELP!
I have been running a behringer ADA8000 via lightpipe into my DIGI002. While I have read countless posts arguing over the right configuration for thisI have always had to set the ada8000 to master and set the sync to optical. That has always been the only way I can get sound without the dreaded pops and clicks. I had to disconnect it for a couple weeks while I used a rented apogee ensemble. Now that I have reconnected the behringer, I am getting pops and clicks even though I have the matching sample rates and the above configuration I have used for years. Does anyone have any idea why this would suddenly be happening? I have tried every combination of slave/master/sample rate imaginable. I'm completely stumped

Have you got the adat connections connected both ways to and from the Behringer. Are you creating new sessions or running old session that were started on the Apogee? If you are running sessions started on the apogee, this could be the problem with running session using external clock/having the Behringer and apogee as the master. As any replacement clock you use can be different and cause issues like this. You should always stay with one clocking source and generally that would best be the internal clocking, unless you've got a really good external clock. Let us know if starting a new session causes the problem! Chris

Re: new problem with an old setup HELP!
Casting my mind back many, many years ago when i had an ADA8000 i'm pretty sure i had to connect both the ADAT in and ADAT out to get it working ok, regardless of internal/external clock.
Have you got both connected? I always use to set it to sync optically from my 002 clock, i can't imagine the ADA8000 being much cop.
