Default Dual Screen setup

Looking at getting set up with second monitor. Need a second video card to do so.
Are there any things i need to watch for? i was looking at inexpensive, but want to make sure there aren't any major things to watch for or specs i should go by.

thanks everyone

You should get a dual head video card, not a second card. What vid card do you have right now? It may already be capable of dual head operation.

If not, the vid cards recommended in the first post of the Best Desktop sticky at the top are your best bet.

thanks everyone!
Sounds like doesn't have to be anything overly expensive to get the result i'm looking for!

Appreciate all of the feedback,
