Default Preamps on MBox

I had a Digi0002R, but swapped it with a friend for an MBox2 Pro. I wanted to have a bus-powered audio interface and I didnt need all the inputs and outputs that were on the Digi002. The problem I am having is that I have a makeshift vocal booth that I put together. When I used the booth and my Digi002R I used to get crisp sounding voices. Now with the MBox, I seem to be picking up more of the room sound in my recordings. I am wondering what the problem is. I tcant be the booth or mic, as nothing has changed there. All I can think is that it is the preamps that are the difference. What preamps does th MBox2 Pro and Digi002R use. Which has better preamps. And how can I get my voice recordings to sound like they were on the Digi002 on my MBox2 Pro?

How much is "more room sound"? Preamps only amplify what the mic picks up - yes, the quality of the sound can be affected by the preamp, but more room sound is not really a "quality of sound" issue. Is the volume level outside the booth the same and can you verify with an SPL meter? Anything in the booth change at all? Same vocalist - since a weaker vocalist means you have to drive gain higher which would pick up more room noise. Vocalist distance to the mic the same (same gain issue). Same type of music? Headphones the same or possibly getting some more leakage? Maybe the headphone monitor mix s louder and leaking into the mic?

There isnt much room sound, but enough to be noticeable. The volume is the same outside the booth, I will check with a SPL meter. Nothing has changed inside the booth, and yes it is the same vocalist, vocalist distance from the mic is the same. I am mainly concerned with it when I am doing voice overs, so there isnt any headphone leakage from the monitor mix
