Default Can\'t heat the "click"

Howdy,
I'm very new to the 001. Just 2 weeks old and I finally got it all up and working. During my first attempt at recording a track, I tried to enable the "click" and the countoff. I followed the ref. manual instructions by clicking on the icons but I don't hear the clicks. The countoff seems to work because there is a delay before I actually start recording but no sound. I'm having a hard time timing my subsequent tracks without hearing a countoff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JB
