Structure problems

I am having a little problem trying to print some VIs that I have in a song, I am using 8 stereo VIs with structure on it, I am bussing out each of them to a stereo track but there is no signal going to these channels, even if I change the VI output to a stereo buss and input it in a stereo audio track it doesn't send signal. Does anyone know if its a bug or something, or is there any other way for me to print these VIs to a track?

I am using PT 8.0 cs2 on a Mac OSX 10.5.6

Do you get live output before you buss them?

yes, I am bussing these tracks to an audio track, the VIs and the audio track has my monitors selected as output. I don't understand why the VIs signal its not going into busses. I hear the audio coming from VI channel.

After spending few hours trying to find a solution I notice that anything already recorded on a VI instrument track does not buss to an audio track, it works only if you buss when recording at the same time, I tried it with different VIs like Structure, Strike and others, is there any specific reason for it?

Just for the record I already troubleshooted PT, trashed preferences and all procedure suppose to be done to make sure everything is fine.

I've noticed that even when you assign an alternate output to a patch, it will still route through the default output unless you make the alt output an active input to a track. If the alt output is inputting to an aux track, it will work immediately. If it's inputting to an audio track, you must have the track record-enabled and be in Input Only Monitoring mode to hear it. If you're in Auto Input Monitoring, you must actually be recording on the audio track to hear it.

Sounds like you might be in Auto Input Monitoring Mode instead of Input Only Monitoring Mode (alt + K).

its frustrating that we ended up spending hours to figured out things that doesn't work, there is no post, no document, nothing stating these problems, even if you go to VI blog there is no technical documentation about all problems everybody is having using VIs. Its not funny at all when you are in the middle of a recording session trying to do your job and the instruments that you use to do your best become useless.

If it is user error it won't be covered as a bug either here or on the blog. I'd try the monitoring route.

thanks Russ, it was a error as far as monitoring, now works fine.
