Default 882 on Mix?

I still have my old TDM nubus setup with an 882 (regular, not an 882|20).

1) Can I use the 882 with a PT Mix or PT 24 card?
2) If I get a PT|24 card but add a Mixfarm, can I use plugins which are written just for Mix?

Hop somebody knows the answers!

Thanks,

Joris de Man

1) I think it depends on the conector/cable - probably but I'm not sure, You can use the PCI 882.

2) yes a D24 and a MIX farm is suposed to be the equivalent of a MIX core - you actualy end up with a little more DSP.

I have both 882/20 and 882/(16 or18) and they work perfectly with MIX+

u need to have a different cable to work with PCI cards . the i/os are the same .
you can add a mixfarm to a d24 system . gives you 64 tracks and the use of the mix only plugs . i still run some 882/16 bit converters , too and ... i hate em

Hehe!

Thanks for your answer..that clarifies it a lot for me. So basically yes, but with another connector
I will only be using it for synth inputs and fx send returns (the non-digital i/o ones, like my old trusty SRV-330), and since most of that is 16 bit anyway, enough for me!

Cheers!

Joris
