Default How do you follow clip naming conventions:

Hi guys, I'm wondering how most of you follow clip naming conventions when doing ADR. Do you

1. Change the track name each time you come to the next line to record so that the clip name ends up proper?

2. Set up multiple tracks pre-named so that you record the first ADR line records on the first track, then you disarm that track and arm the next track?

3. Do all the naming after the session is over?

Thoughts? Is there a generally accepted method?

Thanks for your thoughts!

John

4. Get Edicue and EdiPrompt. They do it automatically in any kind of configuration you want.

Thank you for that! We actually have that software but haven't done enough ADR to put it to use (we more often record singing). Will check that out before the session!

Thank you!

If you have access to EdiPrompt check it out. Sounds in Sync might have a tutorial but you should also run a mock practice session to get to grips with it. Not hard, just need to see how it works. It will take care of renaming the record track for you.

I like to have a track for selects, two tracks for alts, and maybe a couple for editing. In addition to the record track(s). Plus your guides, beeps, etc...

Will, thanks for that. Yes, we do have it but just haven't had the occasion to delve into it. But will DEF check it out!
