Ditto on the solo/mute problem (which was pre- iTunes ).
It's getting really bad, if not worse for me.

Not gonna be much help, but I was a bit worried after reading this thread, as I had recently updated to iTunes 10 but hadn't opened PTLE since. Everything seems good on my end.

PTLE 8.0.4, OSX 10.6.4, and Waves Platinum 7.0 on a 2.4 gHz C2D non-unibody MacBook Pro.

Looks like it might just be me then! If all else fails I can archive my email/desktop and clone my studio rig back onto my hard drive here at home (my studio partner has exactly the same mac, and when we set up our production room, I cloned my then-working system for the studio rig). Don't really want to have to go through the hassle, but that should fix things (although I'd still be none the wiser as to what actually went wrong - and still scared to re-install iT10!).

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

What regular computer maintenance do you do? No reason not to run DiskWarrior at least once a week to keep your drives healthy. 95% of computer problems are software and directory corruption.

The usual stuff...permissions repair, clear p-ram once in a while.

I have diskwarrior and it's saved mine and a few other backsides once in a while, but I don't think this is a corruption issue - it seems like something has broken something else that Waves relies on - and since the only thing that has changed is the iTunes installation, that's the prime suspect.

I've got a very good idea what I'm doing with Macs in general and Pro Tools in particular - I'm usually the guy answering these queries - this is just a very weird problem that I've never seen before.

Maybe the iTunes install corrupted part of your hidden directory so now your computer can't find a Waves component...

Computers...try everything and if that doesn't work, rebuild from scratch. But like I said, no reason not to run Diskwarrior.

Yep, I guess I'll try that.

Otherwise, I've got system images - it's looking more and more likely that it's time to try that option.

Huh. To help narrow it down, running NPP 7.x and upgraded iTunes last week with no problems.

I loaded iTunes 10 two days ago and have PTLE 8.0.4, OSX 10.6.3, and the latest Waves Platinum 7.0 on a 2.26 gHz 8-core Nehalem.

No problems so far, I'm using about 4-5 Rcomps and one IR-L, and then an L1+ on the master.
