Default Spotting to Video (Windwos 10)

Many years ago (PT7/8) on XP, I had to install Quicktime to spot for video in Pro Tools.

15 years later and I now have Windows 10 and a Pro Tools subscription.

I tried importing video but it won't playback the video only the audio. Do I need some 3rd party software like Quicktime?

Yes, you need to install Quicktime Essentials, and enable Video Engine.

The video engine was enabled and I didn't need Quicktime.

In the end, it started working. My laptop only has 8 GB of RAM although it has 32 GB of Optane memory. Pro Tools was reporting a CPU error which I suspect was related to the limited memory and slower Optane memory. I closed background stuff to free up memory and it was fine.
