missing installer icon within 'welcome to ProTools' dialog box

I have ProTools 8.0.1 (the box says 8.0.3)

I got a new computer.. 12 gig RAM quadcore AMD FX 4100
Win 7 ultimate 64 bit.

When I put the disc in the 'installer' disc in the drive, I can open up the
'welcome to Protools' dialog box where the setup or installer icon should be, but the dialog box is empty.

I've used this disc to install protools on a G4 laptop and another PC running
XP. (neither computer was fast enough to do much tracking, but it did install the program).

I've tried to open Protools in win 7 or XP mode. But, the same, 'no icon' result.

I am stumped.

I would suggest downloading the latest installer from you Avid account.

Can you tell me how to get there? (download installers for PT 8.0.3)

I know this sounds so easy, but I'm having trouble
navigating this AVID site.

Downloading 'installers' sounds like a definite fix.

I'm really trying here.

I do own the PT program and i have the key code.
I just can't find where to download these installers from

Once you are logged in go to:
My product/My Product details
you should see a downloads drop down menu, and all of the installs of your registered product (I personally don't see my Pro Tools 8LE installers since I am currently on v10, that kinda worries me if all my dvds went bad and I needed the exe files. But that's my issue.LOL)

Run those and see if it fixes your problem.

I had registered this product in late 2010. But, when I go to the 'My Product Details' it says 'no downloads available'.

I knew i registered it. So, i pulled out my yellow card.
I have a registration confirmation number. and a registration ID
and an ASC number. I tried them all.

It should be there on that same page. Is it blank or just not showing a Pro Tools installer? I wonder if re-entering your Pro Tools activation card would do anything. Do you still have that info? One other option would be to Google search Pro Tools 8 LE replacement disks, but as I said it may not solve your problem.

After i gained access to the downloads, I just copied and pasted what was there.

I saw no installers.

Well those downloads are the installers. Still not sure why Pro Tools isn't showing up though. You may need to contact Avid about it.

You might also trying copying the installer files from the CD to your hard drive and installing it from there.

I am downloading the PC version of the six downloads. So, there are three.
they don't look like installers or say they are installers, but let's see what happens.

They are downloading incredibly slow for some reason.
