SC48 to JoeCo or Allen&Heath ICE-16 over Firewire
I have a customer wanting to use a JoeCo recorder or the Allen & Heath ICE-16 recorder with his SC48 by using Firewire. Is this something that can be done?

No!
FWx is just for computers with Pro Tools! The ICE-16 uses Firewire for working as an audio interface, besides being a stand alone recorder. The JoeCo doesn't even have a firewire connection, it's just a stand alone recorder. Regards, MJ |

Any suggestions on the best way to interface a JoeCo box with an SC48?

Re: SC48 to JoeCo or Allen&Heath ICE-16 over Firewire
If it's a Mix Rack, Profile or D-Show, you can use the Venue MADI Option Card and record 64 channels direct to a JoeCo BBR64-MADI, I guess.
If it's a SC48, you are limited to the 32 channels of the FWx interface (using a computer instead of a JoeCo BlackBox). OR, you could connect the SC48 to a JoeCo via analog or AES/EBU, supposing you have the required output modules on the SC48 and the corresponding JoeCo model. But then, you would be limited to 24 channels, maybe FWx could be a better option... Good luck. Regards, MJ |
