First - why don't you save yourself $1k and just use the 002R as your Logic interface? Now that Core Audio is multi-client, you could even have Logic and PT open at the same time (I think).

Second - If you're at all serious about surround mixing, a Bose home theater system will simply not cut it in any way, shape , or form. I wouldn't even want to put one of those "all-in-one" systems in my living room to watch second-rate chick flicks with my wife, let alone using it to critically listen to a mix in a studio environment. You'd have issues with bass management, all sorts of frequency problems - and basically, the system would do nothing but lie to you. Bottom line - you wouldn't use one of those Bose "wave guide" mini-stereos as your main stereo monitoring rig, would you? Same applies here.

I haven't used them myself, but Blue Sky seems to have some decent affordable 5.1 monitoring systems, complete with proper bass management. Look into them first - or think about picking up 5 Mackie HR624's used, along with a sub...but then you'd still need bass management and volume control - so, ditch the Big Knob and go with the Blue Sky BMC - very cool little box for very little cash.

If you feel so inclined to pay me for the above info, feel free to PayPal the e-mail address in my profile. Let us know what you decide.

hey Chris
thanks for your help but i need a little more info
i already have the 002R and C8 (i might return it)

what would be the best way to get into Surround w/ Logic
and switch between both (this is what i need to know) HOW!!!
and what equipment should i need to complete this best of both worlds system

if i get a detailed signalflow schematics and
a brief explanation to what to buy, why and how
then i'll have no problem paypal anyone.

hope i was clear enough this time
