Default Recording Vocals with 11R

Has anyone had good results recording vocals through 11R? If so, please tell us how you are accomplishing that. I am using a Rode NT1-A (48v swith on) and have tried the "Mic Line In" input and the signal is so weak. Using the 11R input gives a hotter signal but it is processed through the 11R.

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. Just don't know what 'levels' I should be expecting. There may be another setting I'm missing.

Are you sure you have the 'pad' switch in the off position?

Yes. 48v=on; PAD=off. I probably just need to continue to work with various combinations of settings/inputs etc... Also, I suspect the 11R Mic Pre is not intended to be replacement for more ProAudio level solutions so I may getting all of the output that the unit has. Don't know.

The 11R Mic input works just fine. There is no problem getting good levels. Maybe check the settings on your Mic, check your XLR cable as well.

Thanks Benoni and support. I'll continue to work it and report back here if I find a solution (discover the problem with my settings).

I once encountered the same problem but I ended up bangin my head against the wall. I was singing on the wrong side of the microphone. All I had to do was to turn the mic 180 ´.

Make sure that's not the problem :)

Hey, check out the site I've been working of for my band, flight case. Everything except the drums were recorded with 11, including all vocals. It's very possible.

Update... I worked with the 3 alternative inputs that I know about (Mic In, Mic/Guitar In, and Eleven Rack In). I was able to get fine results with the "Eleven Rack In" by using a clean amp (e.g. Q1 SL-100 Clean) and just a little reverb.
