Which laptop to use with an Mbox???

Hi,

I just some dough for a computer that I want to use with an Mbox. I heard that the new ti-books and i-books have small cache problems. What do you all recommend????

i'm using the tibook 550 wif 256M ram and it works great for me. 18 tracks with 7 plugins running no problems

Deaf, no problems, I can cream out more from it, or no problems but one more plug and my tibook dies?
Shouldn't the performance of a tibook 550 be better than an g4/400 AGP?
My self getting around 24 tracks w/ 15 plugs.

18 tracks and seven plug-ins is nice, but I wonder what the max you could do, and how that compares to the max performance of an i-book

i use a tibook 550 G4 - but i would recommend a g3 pismo: great performane, more connections and low noise.

I would appreciate any feedback on the iBook 600Mhz (14" screen) with at least 512meg of ram and the MBox.
- Screen size is almost the same as the Ti 550
- Performance with non altivec optimized applications should be similiar to the Ti 550
- The ibook has no fan. Less noise

Any experienced pros/cons?

Hey Guys, since the Mbox's release, it appears every 3 days someone is asking?

- will the mbox rock w/ this system?
- how's it work w/ this laptop?
- how many plugins can I expect w/ this setup?

All the above & more have been "asked" & "answered" many times over. Man, I'm sure the 001 users, (et al) are already tired of these repeated questions regarding the mbox.

If one would only "take the time" to do a DUC search, you would not have to post these repeated questions every week...man, I luv the mbox, mine celebrated it's month old b-day on the 12th...but I too am tired of the same old questions.

BTW, how's your mbox? Would it be totally killer on this setup, or should I buy this laptop? How many tracks/plugins should I be able to get my TiBook 667? Will the Mbox run on my iBook 500 better than my Ti?
