Default Re: Will there be any 12.5.x bug fix releases?

not upset at all .. i have 11.3.2 and 12.5 .. and am current with my Perpetual License until September .. i had opened the thread that asked this question and Avid answered it .. they said, stay current and get the latest or stay where you and stop paying .. yes, subscriptions are different than perpetual obviously ..

since i am still using Mavericks 10.9.5 .. i have not seen these graphics issues ..

i hope 11.3.2 fixed something ... i need to take a look at the read me ...

it is a drag how things are now as far as paying and fixing .. but as JFreak says .. this is the future .. we need to figure out what it ht best way for each of us to move forward ..

Q: what is the policy if someone posts 11.3.2 in a dropbox for someone who is not eligible for it .. i.e.: they need support but cannot call because they are not suppose to have this update !!!

cheer john

11.3.2 works good enough for me. There are some midi weirdness with it but over all its pretty stable on windows.

12 is an absolute piece of you know what on my system.

Avid needs to figure it out or my money is for certain going elsewhere. No more annual subscription fees for me. Im done. The 599 for 12 was not worth a penny.

PS - while great in theory to provide bug fixes for all prior versions I don't believe this will ever happen.
Does this mean we must wait until someone (whose Plan ends at Pro Tools 12.4) takes legal action, if they’ve suffered hearing damage caused by a “not fit for purpose” product?

Noise Blasts must be fixed.

If Avid doesn’t want to fix Noise Blasts in previous versions, the best way for Avid to restore its severely damaged credibility is to give all purchasers of Pro Tools 12 a free copy of Pro Tools 12.6 - or whatever the number is, when the Noise Blasts issue has been properly fixed.

Just went to add this idea to IdeaScale - but I think it stands a better chance here.

Sincere thanks to propower and john1192 for adding your +1’s

If this idea is important to you, especially if you consider it a “reasonable ask” - please add your +1

Default Re: Will there be any 12.5.x bug fix releases?

I started this thread and I continue to be saddened by the lack of any communication or bug fix updates from AVID...

It has now been 6.5 weeks since the 12.5 release. There are clearly many issues with this release and I am saddened that we are now trending (1/2 way there again) more towards 3 month release cycles and no interim bug fix releases.

This is NOT what I was led to believe would be the case in the advertising and promotion of the new support plan structure. If this translates into literally 3 or maybe 4 releases per paid year - I think that is despicable.

I fully expect AVID to continue to ignore this thread, though isn't it interesting that I added to the thread for people with active support plans that got the silly letter telling us to renew. FWIW - AVID immediately answered that post and posted a support case for me. I actually didn't care and would never have started one myself... and yet here is mission critical stuff getting the predictable - No Response...

So hoping the update and bug fix behavior changes

There might be. I noticed this at Stockholmsmässan / LLB yesterday;

Stan, what are the MIDI issues you're referring to with 11.3.2? I'm on 12.4 with Windows, but haven't done any really complex and involved midi work yet, but I will be. If 12.4 proves problematic, I'm curious what sort of things are less than ideal on 11.3.2.
