Default Does waveform complexity affect processor overhead?

I have a stupid (maybe) technical question.....

Should there be any difference in processor load on my ProTools system with recording or playing back complex musical tracks, a simple tone, or recorded silence?

My thought is that the system still has to engage itself in a playback mode so there shouldn't be any difference
