Default Best way to xfer media from Avid/PC>ProTools/Mac

Hey ya'll -
What's the best way to xfer media from a PC-based machine running Avid Symphony to my PowerMac w/ ProTools LE (Digi002). I want to get either the OMF2 or the QuickTime files (which are way too big to burn on CD-R) so that I can fly home with them to my studio and import the OMF or QT movie files into ProTools for scoring ...

So far - the files are too big to burn on the CD-R in the edit bay, and there is no DVD burner.

I thought of running out and getting an external firewire drive, and just moving the data to there ... but here's the main question:
* since the media in Avid is on a PC, I assume the PC will want to format the firewire drive when we plug in? If so - assuming we format w/ the HP/PC ... and xfer the media files over there - will I then be able to plugin the PC-formatted firewire drive into my Mac and pull the data off?

I remember being able to always mount PC-formatted floppies and zip discs in the past, but have never tried mounting a pc-formatted firewire drive on the Mac.

Please help - leaving this afternoon from Dallas, TX to fly back to my studio!

I highly recommend MacDrive5 from Mediafour for using Mac formatted drives with Windows. Make sure you have a qualified FireWire card.. I use an Adaptec 4300 which works well. You can mount FAT32 FireWire drives on your Mac.. but Windows will only let you format them up to 32Gigs.

Mac will read/write to a FAT32 formatted drive from a PC.
