Having Trouble With Hardware Please Help!

Hey, So I have the new 27inch iMac intel with snow leopard. I am running Pro Tools LE, and have and MBOX 2 mini. I downloaded and installed the new update, but when i try and play back a session or use any of the midi instruments i have no sound. The volume bar is going up and down as if there is something playing, but there is no sound coming out. Any suggestions? Also is there a separate update for the hardware? Also when I close Pro Tools and try and go into my system preferences to look at the sound settings I get a spinning wheel and my comp freezes up. If I unplug the MBOX while it is spinning my comp. completely crashes. PLEASE HELP! Thank you, and happy holidays : )

Well first off... NEVER EVER unplug your MBox while your system is running. Just about guaranteed to crash regardless of whether or not you are currently having issues. I've had to completely reinstall Pro Tools because of it.

That being said... perhaps you now need to reinstall Pro Tools...

Otherwise, have you tried any of the basic troubleshooting? Clearing preferences and databases, etc.

So I just Uninstalled and reinstalled and i am still getting no sound out of my MBOX 2 mini. Any suggestions as to what I can do because this is very frustrating.

....also...it is basically freezing up and crashing my computer now everytime..please help..desperate to bounce out some files and have no sound

I am having a similar problem. I have the same computer iMAC 27 with snow leopard. I have PT 8.0.3 installed

Here are my symptoms that I noticed.

1) whenever I plug in the MBOX to start up Protools it freezes my clock and other programs (i.e. safari, QT video, system preferences) freeze up.

2) Also, when I run Pro tools to start it up it either makes it all the way to the select and open a new session start up menu but freezes when I try to open a new session

3) If I try to open a session I made in PT 8 it freezes when it is loading at the Xpand! plugin.

PLEASE HELP!

I'm having the same exact problem. And it is really annoying cause it doesn't even allow me to use GarageBand. ANYONE? HELP with this? is driving me insane!

You should read the threads about the problem with bluetooth on 27" iMacs and Protools. Do a search.
