Crashes while launching the last plug-in

I've just swapped my two-year old MacBook Pro into a new one (i5 with OS X 10.6.3), and restored a Time Machine backup.

At first, I had some problems with audio not coming through from iTunes and through my Mbox 2, so I reinstalled PTLE (8.0.3).

However, on every launch, the splash screen hangs when launching the last plug-in. Firstly, it always hung on Xpand!, and thinking it was the problem, I removed it from the plug-in folder. But then PTLE only hung on the plug-in that was now the last in the folder. This proved to be the same as I removed more and more plug-ins. Any ideas on this?

Also, I am experiencing a lot of crashes and hangs on different programmes (Safari, iTunes, Mail etc.) with the Mbox 2 plugged in. When I start up the computer without the Mbox 2, everything runs smoothly (as it should).

SOLVED

As proposed in another thread, I put the Mbox 2 in the USB port closest to the SD slot. Having the older MacBook Pro, you were supposed to have it plugged in the USB port closest to the power cable, now it seems to be the opposite. Everything seems to work very nicely by now..!
