Default Command 8 vs. 002 Console

I have had a console for 5 years. Now I have a SigMod 002 and someone is selling me a command 8 for 350! (getting out of protools)
So, is there any new things ....function wise that I may have to get used to.
And does it make a difference how you route your monitoring....guessing it would be better for me to monitor through the Sig002 oppose to the command 8.

If you are planning to use the Command 8 with a 002 Console then it won't really matter since all you can do with the Command and 002 Console is use the Command to add 8 additional faders, nothing more.
Also remember the monitoring on the Command 8 has nothing to with PT, it simply acts like any other little mixer you might use.
You feed it a signal from your Digi interface and it gives you some control over the signal.

Thanks for the answer, I guess its a two question post.....I know longer have the console......just wondering if there is any difference/advantages in owning the command 8 over the console as far as ProTools is concerned. Second part.... if I connect my monitor outs from the 002r to the command 8 instead of the 002r directly into monitors, won't I be monitoring through the command 8's analog components..... Or is the command 8's monitor section just a past thru that will not effect or degrade the much better D/A coming out of the modded 002.

I guess I could answer that question myself......do it and see what happens!

The Command 8 doesn't have all the changes that the 003 provides but it definitely has a enough as to where it has a much better flow than the 002 Console.

The monitoring section on the Command 8 isn't an advantage.
