Any batch software to combine split mono .L/.R files into interleaved WITH metadata?
I'm trying to get a sizeable sound effects collection reorganized and I have a lot of early design work that I saved as L/R pairs (some as SD2 files). I'm trying to standardize the whole collection into stereo wav files...
I can import them into PT and re-export them interleaved, but it strips off all the original metadata description tags that exist in the L/R files. Anyone know of a simple converter that can put these pairs back together and maintain the metadata?

You can do it in Soundminer Pro using the mirror feature.

I had to do the exact same thing (split L and R, SD2 and mp3 to stereo wav files)
I highly recommend sound grinder pro, I had to do everything by chunks but all meta data was transferred correctly. About 75,000 sounds overall and everything came across as it should. |

How do I do that? I searched the reference but couldn't find anything.
Edit: never mind -- already figured it out (for future reference: drag both mono files simultaneously to a new stereo track). |

So I'm not sure how to make it a stereo file without manually exporting it, at which point there is no metadata... Enlighten me?

Re: Any batch software to combine split mono .L/.R files into interleaved WITH metada
Seriously you need to look into spundgrinder pro. It has a demo and will do exactly what you want. You basically tell it where te metadata exists for each file type on the input side and then tell it where you want that metadata to go on the output side and it handles the rest, will merge the split files into interleaved etc. I was in this position less than a year ago and even sound miner couldn't tackle this correctly (but I do use it to manage the library.)

I may have spoke to soon, I haven't tried it with split monos
how I would set it up: new session using interleaved files wave format in prefs I would use force import to session format and top to bottom drop order I'd assumed (yes I'm assumed) that would work
