Default Pro Tools Freezing/Unfreezing Constantly

Hi all,
So I recently updated my PC to Windows 8.1 and since then I've been dealing with a number of issues; many of which you all have helped to solve. I have two consistent problems now that I can't figure out how to fix:

-My Pro Tools takes about 6 minutes to load now, which had never happened in the past. It seems to take the most time when loading Xpand!2
- Pro Tools GUI now freezes once a minute for about 20 seconds. If I'm playing back sound or tracking, the sound continues to run, but the screen will freeze and then unfreeze about 20 seconds later. If I'm tracking with a metronome, the click will sporadically shut off and turn on, often displacing the beat. As you can imagine, this makes tracking virtually impossible. There are no commands that seem to cause this more than others; it just continues to occur regardless of what I'm doing. Any advice would be so genuinely appreciated; these issues are delaying my current project immensely. My Sandra Report is listed below and I believe any other pertinent information will show up in my signature. **Edit, my signature isn't showing up, so please see below Sandra Report for other information** Please let me know if I can help in ANY other way.

Thanks so much!!!!

SiSoftware Sandra

My first guess/first thing to exclude is a known problem caused by Pro Tools getting confused by a floppy disk drive in your computer (even if you may not actually have a physical floppy drive in the PC -- the CD/red book ripping component in PT 11 keeps trying to access the floppy.). Disable any floppy drive in the BIOS and/or Windows device manager. See http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=344222 and several other threads here.

Other than that make sure you have done every last recommended systems optimization to your laptop. And that laptop is a bit light on specs, e.g. with Intel native graphics, I hope you are not recording to the system drive. And it would be nice to see a faster systems drive, especially if you are using sample based samples.

If none of that does this happen with a new session? Trash prefs and databases. Check all plugins are up to date. Try running with all plugins temporarily moved out of their folders (see lots of posts here on how to do that). See the standard trouble shooting steps under the "help us help you..." link above in this web page for more info.
