I'm not dual core so that probably doesn't apply.

I think when I get be to my studio tonight I'll try removing 7.0, roll back IE to 7 ... and then try the 7.4 install.

Really want to get it done so I can try out the TL Native reverb I grabbed last week.

Good point on the dual core, but at this point its looking like those older AMD cpu's are not keeping up with the later versions of Pro Tools. It may be the best thing to either stay with PT7, or do a computer upgrade to an i7 system where you can reap the benefits of multi-core(and they are rather huge). I found the PT8 upgrade to be a killer package between the new instruments, Elastic Audio and Elastic Pitch.

The IE8 issue was the problem. I'm up and running like a champ...and passed on the fix to a freind in UK who's doing the same.
