Default Are you a PT 'VSO' Genius......?

Hi,

Got a tricky one here....!!

Im using the 'VSO' function in the session set up window to slow down my PT session.

Using this function you can only go down to -3.00 semitones or 83 %.

So my question is; is there a way to apply this same function to a session but to go lower than the 'VSO' allows - ie lower that -3.00 semitones.

Any help would be great as i am working on a job and they are killing me on this one!!!

Thanks
James

you may want to make a Session Copy

In that COPY

- Switch all tracks from samples to Ticks
- Elastic Enable Tracks in VariSpeed Mode
- Lower the session tempo, to the desired VSO drop
- Render the tracks by "Committing EA" or Consolidating the audio.

AFAIK you can go "Right Down" - Rather then the VSO settings in Session Setup, effecting the Clock, with external Sync perif's - the Elastic Audio VariSpeed is all done internally.

"Seeming" to "Slow down the playback head" similar to a "Shift+Playback"

I personally have "Played with" slowing a session with all EA VariSpeed tracks in the session, but have never "Printed" (Committed / consolidated them) and taken the tracks / session out of VariSpeed Mode.

You'll get further in experience, then I have with this - Let us know how it works.

From my "Playing around" I was trying to get a "Tape Spin Down" effect, like we could get from serato, or other AS plugins, and I found that the tempo changes were more of a "Stepped" effect, then a linear one... so I abandoned ship.

If you change the "density" of the tempo changes to 50ms instead of 250ms (which I think is the default) it will sound much smoother. You do this inside the expanded tempo ruler.
