Help ! DAE ERROR -1115 , PT 6.1 on Win Xp

Has anyone had a problem with DAE ERROR -1115, What is it. Pro-tools will not start , it always freezes on DAE setup. It did work for about 1 week but has developed this fault. I have done 3 fresh installs of Xp! I have taken my boot drive to another computer - no luck. The M-Box does work on a OSX system though! Is it possible to have an M-Box that works with a mac but not PC? I have unplugged all other PCI cards - Removed RAM , Clicked my heals 3 times and said there is nothing like pro-tools!!!.
Please help me... System is XP2400+ , 1 Gig Ram , Seagate+IBM Drives , GIGABYTE GA-7 VAX v1.1 MBoard - with 4.48 Chipset drivers (have tried older version) Hercules 9000pro 128Meg dual output card (when it was working I spent most of my time trying to figure out the quicktime problem)

The only other mentions I have found are with people who have 002 system runing on firewire and they seem to have this problem every 3rd boot or so.. I have tried disabling Firewire on MBoard too.

PS. When will the Video playback be sorted out in a gracefull manner with direct Firewire output

Wow - If you reinstall XP 37 times it should work, 3 times is not enough. Kidding (?) aside, your problem is firewire data transfer - either the infamous faulty harness or the 002 is plugged into a bad outlet or with lots of stuff on the same circuit. When the 002 (or 002R) gets a bad signal it momentarily loses communication with the system and doesn't respond.
It's probably the harness though and Digi will send a replacement overnite.

I got that error with the SIIG firewire card. For me, it was as simple as changing fire wire cards. I got the Adaptec Fire Connect card (listed on digi's compatible list) and the errors went away...completely!!! . If I were you, I would change cards and see if that fixes it, Good luck, Jason

guess he was refering to 002 people and not Mbox people?

A question for the OP; what version of XP are you running? If its SP2 or SP3, that would likely be the show stopper. 6.1 was never qualified to run on SP2. The oldest version of Pro Tools that runs on SP2 or 3 is 6.4 WITH cs6 and cs9 added.

lilmone, it's possible that the unit could be defective, but not likely. More likely is an incompatibility with your computer. If you would please, read the "Help us help you - what you need to know before posting", follow the instructions there for gathering the information about your computer that we would need to be able to help you, and start a new thread of your own with your specific problem.

A good beginning would be to start your own thread, post a Sandra report and tell us about your system.
