Default 002's still running what could I upgrade too?

Do I need to go HD. I do semi pro work. I love the 002 but I know its out dated whats out there that better but equal to.
Artist Control with an mbox pro?
what would be a step up from that?

002 was controller and DAW in one

You're good thru Pro Tools 10(and you could even use 10 HD software) so why worry about it for now. If it meets your needs, I'd keep right on using it until it dies. Then, you will have some decisions to make; like how much controller do you need(the little Presonus Faderport does most of what I need here, with transport buttons and a fader for volume rides and automation writes With 9 or 10(and up) you are free to use almost ANY interface so you can look at MOTU, RME and Focusrite, to name a few(and likely get a lot more simultaneous inputs if you want to record full bands)
