Audio Suite crashes PT 6.4 in Preview mode HELP!

When I use AUDIO SUITE on the edit page, when I'm listening to a file in PREVIEW mode on the plugin,

within 2 or 3 changes of the preset (Whilst previewing) Pro Tools crashes and has to be restarted.

It does this with various plugins and not just specific ones.


I'm running Pro Tools 6.4
Digi 001
OSX 10.3.9 (Quicktime 6)
G4 Dual 1.3ghz 2Mb L3 cache, 2 Gig Ram, Internal Firewire Audio Drive.

As I said, I can preview the file a couple of times, but if I then change the PRESET and try to continue
previewing then the whole program crashes.

I've done all the classic Digidesign tricks - ie. trash preferences, databases, disk permissions etc. Even reinstalled -

but this problem does not go away.

I came back to Digi 001 after horrific CPU draining problems with plugins with Mbox 1, that Digidesign have still not currently solved, but must admit that the most stable Pro Tools that I've ever used was PT 5.1.1 on OS 9.2.2 with Audiomedia III.


If anyone knows of a simple fix for this problem please let me know. I've trawled the net but can't find an answer.
