Dumb DAE Question
In HD, memory cannot be allocated directly to DAE. Must we allocate twice as much memory to Pro Tools, or will DAE just take what it needs?

Re: Dumb DAE Question
Allocate it to the ProTools 150-250 Mb should be more then enough....the DAE is built in this time on the HD so don't have to worry....and no quesion is a dumb question.

Re: Dumb DAE Question
Thanks!
Does that mean that if you upgrade to HD without going in and changing the memory settings, you're starving PT of more than half the memory you had allocated under Mix? I must have missed a giant warning somewhere! |

Re: Dumb DAE Question
Well, they do inform you of this change several times in the manuals. (System Requirements listed in the Getting Started with HD Guide and PT 5.3 ref guide. And explanation of new DAE in "What's New in 5.3" guide.)
Also, since you install new software for 5.3.1 the default memory settings are changed already. So you would never be in the position of opening up the new software with the old memory settings. You follow??? |
